Practicing Gratitude and the Law of Attraction

Being grateful for the things that you have will help you to appreciate life a lot more. Being grateful for things that you want but don’t have yet is a practice that may help you to attain what you want. For example, if you want a new car or a bunch of new friends, say out loud “Thank you for my new car” or “Thank you for all these new friends that I have.” Say it out loud every day a few times a day.

Write down in a journal a list of things that you would like to have. For instance, maybe you would like a new job, more money or maybe you want to get along better with your family or a friend. Write down what it is that you desire. Go over the list and then start saying aloud “I am thankful for my friend and I getting along so well. Thank you for the peace and harmony in our lives.” You should say this over and over until it absorbs in your mind. Giving thanks for something you haven’t received may just help you to receive it.

I keep an attitude of gratitude everyday. I am thankful for what I have but I also thank the universe for things that I desire but do not currently have. It seems that this gratitude practice has been working in my life and the more I use it, the more things I find to be thankful for. For example, before I found ezine, I thanked the universe for sending me something to do from home that would make me a little bit of extra spending money. I kept saying this throughout the week and then while going through a search engine I came upon hubpages. This so far has been the best opportunity for me to make some pocket money. It is not just that example that I’ve received something due to practising gratitude. There are many others. When I tell people out about it, they say, “Wow, didn’t you just say thank you for that last week? How did you do that? Are you magic?” It’s really weird how I’ve been attracting things in my life just by being so thankful.

I cannot really explain how or why it works but a couple years ago I was introduced to a book called the Secret. In the book, I read about the law of attraction and gratitude. For the first year, I started practicing what was in the book and tried putting the law of attraction to use. It sure worked! Sometimes it takes time for something to occur, but it does work. At least it did for me. I will tell you, if you think negatively, you will attract more negative things into your life. Did you ever hear of the phrase “When it rains, it pours”? The book states that by having positive thoughts and a positive attitude, you will gain positive energy that will be sent out into the universe and bring more positive things into your life. It also says that you create your life by whatever you focus on the most. If you are constantly focusing on negative things, negative events will keep happening in your life. So you must change your mind-frame to think more positively to achieve what you want. Gratitude is one of those things that helps to bring more positivity into your life.

Try it out for a while. Write down the things you want in life. Say aloud the things that you wish to attain, but act like you already have those things. Be thankful for them. Try to stay focused on what it is that you want rather than focusing on what you don’t want. Remember, you want to attract the things that you want, not the things that you don’t want, so keep focused on your desires. Don’t be discouraged if you start to think negatively. Positive thoughts are said to have more energy than negative ones. Therefore, you can think a few bad thoughts a day and it will be fine. Don’t drive yourself crazy. Basically, do not dwell on those negative thoughts, try to switch them up with something more positive. Do things that will make you feel positive. Listen to your favorite songs, read a good book or watch a funny movie. Focus on the good. Good luck and I hope the law of attraction and gratitude will work for you just like it does for me and other people that I know.
